Women’s equality is a global issue and one that we in the Global Leadership League take very seriously. The work we are doing within the field of international education reaches across cultures, countries, and experiences. It is important for us to recognize and share with other organizations around the world who are doing great work in these same areas. If you are looking for other organizations to support and learn more about, please feel free to look through our list below. If you know of an organization doing great work, don’t hesitate to let us know!
The Association for Women's Rights in Development (AWID)
AWID is a global, feminist membership organization. For over 30 years they have been a part of the incredible ecosystem of women’s rights movements working to achieve gender equality, sustainable development and women's human rights worldwide.
For many years, the UN faced serious challenges in its efforts to promote gender equality globally, including inadequate funding and no single group to direct UN activities on gender equality issues. UN Women was created to address such challenges. It is a dynamic and strong champion for women and girls, providing them with a powerful voice at the global, regional, and local levels.
